The Wukong Edition - MechaQuartz Chronograph
Introduction
After the Sakura Edition sold out, we were on a journey to create our next wicked chronograph — something ancient, something mystic, something truly wicked.
Our inspiration comes from the legendary WUKONG (悟空).
Sun Wukong, also known as the Monkey King, is the central figure in the classic 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West (西游记), written by Wu Cheng'en. Wukong is a mischievous, powerful, and intelligent monkey born from a magical stone, who possesses incredible strength and mastery over various magical arts. After rebelling against the heavens and challenging the gods, he is eventually subdued by the Buddha and tasked with accompanying the monk Tang Sanzang on a perilous journey to retrieve sacred Buddhist scriptures from India. Throughout the epic, Wukong's wit, bravery, and loyalty make him a symbol of resilience, rebellion, and redemption. His adventures have captivated audiences for centuries, and his character continues to inspire countless adaptations in literature, film, television, and popular culture worldwide.

In a tribute to Wukong, our classic W logo has been transformed into a stylized interpretation of his iconic golden crown. This distinctive new logo is proudly displayed on the dial.
The Design
This timepiece features a purposefully redesigned case, moving beyond our existing library to create a slimmer silhouette infused with traditional Chinese aesthetics. Its distinctive convex bezel draws direct inspiration from the graceful curves of ancient temple rooftops.

The Case
Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case presents a refined contrast of finishes. The lug flanks and caseback are brushed, while the lug tops, undersides, and bezel are polished, creating a dynamic interplay of light and texture.
The case measures 38 mm in diameter, 46 mm lug to lug, and 11 mm in height (including the sapphire crystal). The crown measures 6.5 mm in diameter, paired with 5 mm chronograph pushers for comfortable operation.
For optimal legibility, we use European sapphire crystal with an internal anti-reflective (AR) coating, remaining fully transparent while reducing reflections.
The Strap
The main strap is crafted from matte black genuine leather with an embossed lychee-grain pattern, evoking the primal, untamed character of beast hide. Its matte red sealed edges symbolize dormant veins of demonic energy—a subtle yet potent allusion to the restrained power within.
A polished 316L stainless steel buckle secures the watch on the wrist. The buckle is engraved with the same logo and then IP gold-plated so it stands out against the polished surface.
The extra strap is a premium FKM rubber strap, embossed with a warrior’s armor-inspired texture. Paired with a fully brushed buckle, it delivers a distinct vintage chronograph aesthetic.
The Movement
The TMI VK64A is a hybrid premium "mecha-quartz" chronograph movement that combines the accuracy and reliability of quartz with the tactile feel of a mechanical chrono.
Timekeeping is handled by a quartz base for low-maintenance precision, while the chronograph uses a mechanical module that delivers a smooth sweeping seconds hand and a crisp, instant reset to zero.
It’s a proven workhorse movement, ideal for everyday wear with a satisfying enthusiast touch.
The Hands
The hour, minute, and sub-dial hands feature a sharp, sword-style silhouette, their faceted angles capturing light for a refined play of reflections on the wrist.
Dominating the center, the seconds hand takes direct inspiration from Wukong’s legendary weapon: the Golden-Banded Staff (Ruyi Jingu Bang). A dark, solid body is gracefully capped with golden finials, distilling the weapon's core aesthetic into a refined and powerful detail.
The Dial
The dial is offered in two powerful expressions: the "Buddha" edition with a vivid red backdrop, and the "Demon" edition in profound black. Recessed sub-dials introduce dramatic depth and contrast, while applied Breguet-style numerals lend a refined, classical touch. Together, these elements forge a true fusion of East and West.
At 6 o’clock, The maxim "One thought to become a demon, one thought to become a Buddha" (一念成魔 一念成佛) is presented as a gold-colored inscription. It expresses the idea that the difference between darkness and enlightenment lies in a single thought, intention, or choice in your heart. Good and evil, chaos and clarity, are not fixed destinies but states shaped by your mind in each moment.
Wukong is "Buddha" and "demon" in one, the dual faces of a single spirit. He is both rebel and protector: born wild and uncontrollable, yet later disciplined by the journey and guided toward a higher purpose.
A watch marks the passage of time—moments where thoughts arise and choices are made. Every glance at the dial is a reminder that, like Wukong, with one thought, you can fall into obsession, anger, or destruction; with another, you can choose compassion, discipline, and wisdom.
The Caseback
The Six-Character Mantra (六字真言) is more than a sacred formula — for Wukong, it is a mark of restraint and awakening. It is the power that can subdue his wild nature, pulling him back from chaos and forcing him to confront discipline, humility, and responsibility. The mantra stands at the turning point of his story: from untamed rebel to enlightened protector.
We engrave the Six-Character Mantra with IP gold-plating on the caseback as a quiet reminder: true power is not only in breaking rules, but in mastering yourself. Hidden against the wrist, it is a personal detail for the wearer — a symbol of inner control beneath outer strength.
The screw-down case back is brushed, then engraved with the watch specifications and a unique serial number. Here’s the twist: all "Buddha" editions feature odd-numbered casebacks, representing wholeness, unity, and non-duality; while all "demon" editions feature even-numbered casebacks, representing duality, division and worldly-attachment.
